U.S. Trade Representative Susan C. Schwab today welcomed President Bush’s nomination of John Veroneau to serve as Deputy U.S. Trade Representative.
"President Bush has made an excellent decision in selecting John Veroneau to become the new Deputy U.S. Trade Representative. In his previous positions as USTR’s General Counsel and as Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Congressional Affairs, John made vital contributions to reestablishing U.S. global leadership in trade. He helped make possible the Bush Administration’s historic strides to expand U.S. trade relationships around the world and to create new economic opportunities for the American people," Ambassador Schwab said. "USTR will benefit greatly from John’s extensive public and private sector experience. I hope the Senate will act swiftly on his nomination. I look forward to working with John as we continue to pursue the President’s ambitious market-opening agenda."
