The top U.S. export categories (2-digit HS) in 2012 were: Aircraft ($184 million), Machinery ($36 million), Special Classification Provisions (articles donated for relief) ($30 million); Optic and Medical Instruments ($9 million); Electrical machinery ($6 million); Mineral Fuels ($4 million) and Pharmaceuticals ($4 million).
U.S. Exports of agricultural products to Uzbekistan totaled just more than $1 million in 2012. The leading categories of U.S. exports were: Eggs and Products ($346 thousand); Tobacco ($328 thousand); and Planting Seeds ($176 thousand).
Uzbekistan was the United States’ 154th largest supplier of goods imports in 2012.
U.S. goods imports from Uzbekistan totaled $26 million in 2012. U.S. goods imports from Uzbekistan from January to June 2013 totaled $24 million.
The top non-agricultural import categories in 2012 were: Inorganic chemicals (uranium) ($21 million); Art and Antiques ($340 thousand) and Fish products ($314 thousand).
U.S. imports of agricultural products from Uzbekistan totaled $3.2 million in 2012. This included imports of tobacco ($1.3 million); Processed Fruits and Nuts ($973 thousand); and Spices ($687 thousand).
The U.S. goods trade surplus with Uzbekistan was $259 million in 2012, a $209 million increase over our surplus in 2011.
