In August 2006, U.S. Trade Representative Susan C. Schwab and ASEAN economic ministers endorsed an initial work program under the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement. The work program included three initial projects:
ation of the ASEAN Single Window for customs clearance;
Assistance on harmonization of ASEAN pharmaceutical policies and standards; and
Development of a U.S.-ASEAN framework on sanitary and phytosanitary procedures to facilitate trade in agricultural goods.
