Isaac Faz
Acting Assistant U.S. Trade Representative, Office of Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement
Isaac Faz serves as Acting Assistant U.S. Trade Representative for Intergovernmental Affairs and Public Engagement (IAPE). His office is responsible for USTR's public outreach efforts to businesses - both large and small - labor, agricultural communities, non-governmental organizations, environmental and consumer groups. Additionally, he is the agency’s liaison to state and local elected officials. Mr. Faz supports USTR’s efforts in expanding export opportunities for U.S. farmers, ranchers, businesses, and workers in an increasingly competitive global trading system by opening key foreign markets and keeping them open through robust enforcement of our trade agreements. He also oversees the U.S. Trade Advisory Committee system, which is an integral part of the trade negotiating process, providing advice and guidance on trade relations with nations around the world. Previously, Mr. Faz served as IAPE’s Deputy Assistant U.S. Trade Representative.
Prior to joining the Obama Administration, Mr. Faz served as Associate State Director for Outreach at the AARP State Office in Austin, Texas. Prior to his work in AARP, he served as Texas State Representative Rafael Anchia’s Communications Director in addition to working on Texas political campaigns.
A native of Dallas, Texas, Isaac has a B.S. from The University of Texas at Austin and a J.D. from Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law.
