Mexico, January 2011

United States Trade Representative Ron Kirk participated in the annual meeting of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) Free Trade Commission on January 10, 2011. The meeting was held in Mexico City, Mexico. Ambassador Kirk met with his colleagues, Mexico’s Secretary of the Economy Bruno Ferrari and Canada’s Trade Minister Peter Van Loan, to discuss ways to strengthen this valuable trading relationship. U.S. exports sold to Canada and Mexico in 2009 totaled almost $400 billion, making the two countries the top two purchasers of U.S. exports in 2009.
