The Office of the United States Trade Representative

Final Text of the U.S.-Australia Free Trade Agreement

The Office of the United States Trade Representative released draft texts of the U.S.-Australia Free Trade Agreement on March 3, 2004. The final texts of the agreement were released on May 18, 2004 - the same day that U.S. Trade Represenative Robert B. Zoellick and Australian Minister of Trade Mark Vaile signed the agreement. The agreement will eliminate more than 99 percent of manufactured goods tariffs between the two countries from day one, open services and agricultural markets, and further deepen their already strong economic ties.
