USTR's Office of Market Access and Industrial Competitiveness (MAIC) is the USTR office responsible for addressing the range of market access, competitiveness, and small business issues facing U.S. manufacturers that are key to the competitiveness of U.S. business and exporters.
The MAIC office leverages the broad expertise of USTR's regional and functional offices and taps into key resources of the wider interagency process, and serves as a focal point for tackling key tariff and non-tariff barrier issues and developing creative approaches to minimizing future barriers and divergences through regulatory cooperation. The MAIC office also leads USTR's trade policy efforts to address the challenges facing smaller exporters and promote the global export opportunities that these businesses need to create jobs here in the United States.
