Readout of Ambassador Tai’s Meeting with European Commission Executive Vice President for a Europe Fit for the Digital Age Margrethe Vestager

WASHINGTON – United States Trade Representative Katherine Tai today met with European Commission Executive Vice President for a Europe Fit for the Digital Age Margrethe Vestager. 

Ambassador Tai and Executive Vice President Vestager discussed the upcoming ministerial-level meeting of the U.S.-EU Trade and Technology Council.  Ambassador Tai and Executive Vice President Vestager agreed that U.S.-EU cooperation in the Trade and Technology Council has been excellent to date, and that this cooperation has been instrumental to the strong, united transatlantic response to Russia’s unjustified and unprovoked attack on Ukraine.

Ambassador Tai and Executive Vice President Vestager also discussed the importance of U.S. and EU cooperation to improve global supply chain resiliency and agreed to stay touch on these important issues.
