Kuwait is currently the United States' 47th largest trading partner, exchanging $10 billion in goods in 2008. The United States and Kuwait entered into a Trade and Investment Framework Agreement (TIFA) in 2004, which established a formal dialogue to promote increased trade and investment between the two countries
Exports
Kuwait is currently the 52nd largest export market for U.S. goods. U.S. goods exports in 2008 were $2.7 billion, up 9.5 percent from the previous year.
ImportsU.S. imports of goods from Kuwait were $7.1 billion, up 72.2 percent. The U.S. goods trade deficit with Kuwait was $4.4 billion in 2008, an increase of $2.7 billion from $1.6 billion in 2007.
