WASHINGTON — Today, Ambassador Jamieson Greer participated in a fireside chat at the Atlantic Council. During the discussion with Wall Street Journal’s chief economics commentator Greg Ip, Ambassador Greer discussed the strategy and goals of President Trump’s trade program that is enhancing American economic security and resilience.
“The goal is not to simply have a trade deal or to simply have tariffs for tariffs’ sake,” said Ambassador Greer. “It's to have a trade policy that leads to these kinds of outcomes … New investment, more capital goods, construction of new factories and facilities are up by a large percentage.”
