WASHINGTON – The Office of the United States Trade Representative has invoked the Rapid Response Labor Mechanism (RRM) in the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) to review whether workers at the Latex Occidental, S.A. de C.V. (Latex Occidental) facility located in the city of Guadalajara in the state of Jalisco, Mexico, are being denied the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining. The United States has suspended liquidation of unliquidated entries of goods from the Latex Occidental facility, which manufactures latex balloons.

Chairman Crapo, Ranking Member Wyden, and Members of this Committee, I am honored to appear before you today as President Trump’s nominee for Deputy United States Trade Representative for Africa, Europe, the Middle East, Western Hemisphere, Environment, Labor, and Industrial Competitiveness. I am grateful to President Trump for the opportunity to serve the American people. I also appreciate having had the opportunity to meet with Members and Staff of this Committee over the past several months and I look forward to working with you if I am confirmed.

Chairman Crapo, Raking Member Wyden, and distinguished Members of the Senate Finance Committee, it is a great honor to appear before you today. I am grateful and honored to have been recommended by Ambassador Greer and nominated by President Trump to serve as the United States Trade Representative’s Chief Agricultural Negotiator.

I would like to thank my husband Scott, and our kids, Vanessa, Maria, and Nathaniel, and my extended family, who are a constant source of inspiration, strength, and support, and I would not be where I am today without them.

WASHINGTON – Last week, Ambassador Jamieson Greer traveled across Michigan and Ohio to tour manufacturing plants, ranging from a drone production facility to the world’s largest washing machine plant. While walking the factory floor, Ambassador Greer met with blue-collar workers, a labor union, and industry leaders to discuss how President Trump’s tariff program is revitalizing our industrial base, reshoring production lines, raising wages, and spurring investment in the United States.

WASHINGTON – After returning from the World Trade Organization’s 14th Ministerial Conference, Ambassador Jamieson Greer published an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal outlining the WTO’s repeated failure to address trade imbalances and how the United States is driving reform on trade globally to eliminate non-reciprocal practices and protect American workers and businesses.

WASHINGTON — On Thursday, April 9, and Friday, April 10, Ambassador Jamieson Greer will travel to Michigan and Ohio to tour a wide range of manufacturing plants, from a drone production facility to a truck assembly plant. During the manufacturing swing, Ambassador Greer will meet with manufacturing workers and industry executives to discuss how the Administration’s trade policies are accelerating America’s reindustrialization, creating jobs, raising workers’ wages, and bringing production lines back to U.S. soil.
